Genuine Film Review

Editorial policy

Genuine Film Review aims to be accurate about films and clear about interpretation. We separate observable screen choices from opinion, correct material errors openly, and disclose commercial relationships that could affect how a piece is read.

Accuracy and interpretation

We check names, titles and factual details before publication and make clear when we are offering an interpretation rather than a verifiable fact. We avoid presenting a viewer's impression as proof of a filmmaker's intention. Where a point depends on a specific version or release, we identify that distinction when it matters.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial arrangements. A partner cannot buy a favourable opinion, control our conclusions or require coverage. If a relationship could reasonably matter to a reader, we explain it alongside the relevant material.

Corrections

Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review the claim, amend confirmed factual mistakes and make a clear note when a change materially alters the piece. We do not silently change an opinion simply because a reader disagrees with it.

Paid material and illustrations

Paid collaborations and partner placements are labelled plainly so readers can tell them apart from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when an illustration is AI-generated, we identify it as such. Illustrations are not evidence of a scene, production or event.
