Write for us
We welcome pitches about the craft of making screen stories feel believable. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to see the film, screen choice and reader question at the centre of your idea.
What suits the publication
Strong contributions take one precise subject and examine what a viewer can actually notice: a performance choice, a convincing room, an unusually quiet soundscape, or a convention that makes a scene feel less genuine. We welcome film criticism, close readings and clear, well-supported essays for readers without specialist knowledge.
What to include in a pitch
Name the subject, give a working title and explain the central idea in a few sentences. Say which film or films you have in mind, what the reader will understand by the end, and why the angle is distinct from familiar commentary. Flag any relevant access, financial or personal connection.
Before sending
We favour original, specific proposals over broad lists or plot summaries. Do not submit work you do not have permission to share, or promise access to material you cannot provide. A pitch is a proposal, not a guarantee of publication; use the Contact page to send it.
